Planning
The Planning Department plans and coordinates the development of new construction, modernization and renovation of district facilities, manages the district's application process for state and federal facility funds, reviews demographic data for enrollment projections, evaluates attendance boundaries, administers the developer fee certification process and Community Facilities District formations, and oversees the general obligation program, cash management and debt service program.
Maintenance, Operations and Construction
The MOC Department provides building routine and preventive maintenance services, as well as oversees the construction of new schools, modernization, and deferred maintenance program. The Department ensures that each design for a new or renovated facility provides a safe and accessible environment for the students, complies with all state and local codes and regulations, adheres to district preferences, and incorporates durable institutional quality materials and construction techniques.
Purchasing
The Purchasing Department fulfills the District's fiduciary responsibility to oversee prudent expenditure of District funds. In order to best serve District interests, effective purchasing procedures consistent with sound financial controls are developed and maintained to ensure maximum value for items purchased. Detailed records of expenditures and purchases are maintained in accordance with law.
Transportation
The Transportation Department provides safe and efficient transportation for District students to and from school as necessary to ensure student access to the educational program, promote regular attendance and reduce tardiness. Provision of transportation services depends upon student and community needs and a continuing assessment of financial resources. The CVUSD Transportation Department professionally delivers safe, prompt, dependable, efficient, and cost-effective services to the needs of students, staff, and the community.
